babies!!

I haven't heard much lately, but they were born on Friday, July 14 and as far as I know everybody's doing all right. So that's good.

I guess since Julie is my fake sister this makes me a fake aunt. That's fun.

I'm tired so I'm gonna go rest a little before I gotta get moving again.

Speaking of moving, I decided to take Caitlin Murphy's advice and head west toward the mountains. That's right, I'll be moving to the Denver area in early September. More on that later, but let's just say I am pumped.

And as usual, God is sooo good.

Anonymous said...: Tater - Congrats on making a decision so quickly! When I talked to you a couple weeks ago it sounded like you wouldn't know what you were going to do til Christmas. I'm so excited for you though. Denver's incredible and I'm sure you'll do a great job working with Mark and the youth group. Wish you the best and watch out, I'm in Colorado at least once a year and will more than likely turn up on your doorstep at some point...;)

the story of the tateblog

In the spring semester of 2005 at KU, I took an online journalism class. Our job in the class was to manage, publish and create the University Daily Kansan web site in only its first or second semester of existence. One of the requirements was that we write in a blog twice a week about what we were learning and accomplishing in class. In its early stages, the tateblog gained attention from original fans Justin Hume and Emily Ashcraft, who for some reason enjoyed reading about my experiences.

After the class was over, I thought tateblog would die. But the fans demanded more. Tateblog started up again in September 2005. From there it grew into quite a phenomenon, until after a year or so tateblogs became less consistent (and arguably less exciting). I even almost decided to call it quits at one point, but I just can't do it. Tateblog must live on.

My life is in a pretty different place nowadays. After taking a two year break from blogging, most likely because in the midst of seminary I had no desire to write anything else, I think I might come back to my old blogging roots. Maybe not so much about weird stuff my friends do, but probably just some thoughts I have on life. So, read it if you like it!
